Once you have a full handle of Social Commerce, recall all of the opportunities mobile technology presents. Mobile Social Commerce will give businesses the opportunity for building relationships with customers at unprecedented levels. Here are a few examples of ways that Mobile Social Commerce can and likely will be used:
- User Reviews- This Mobile Social Commerce feature will give consumers the opportunity to read real-time customer reviews on products and services while they are at the point of purchase. Not only will consumers be able to price shop, but with Mobile Social Commerce, they can compare product reviews from peers.
- Mobile Social Networks- Mobile Social Commercewill allow companies to integrate M-Commerce into their Social Networking campaigns. Businesses can announce special deals and/or sales on their Facebook, Twitter, etc. accounts. You can even put live links to the products up with your announcement to allow users to click to the product/service buy page straight from the Mobile Social Network.
- Friends/Followers/Bloggers drive transactions- For Mobile Social Commerce, this would best be illustrated by the following example. Blogger A is at your record store and buys a rare, high end pair of headphones. The headphones are on sale for the next two days-only, and you are down to the last 5 pairs. Blogger A is happy with his purchase, and wants to let his friends know about your great deal, so they can take advantage of it right NOW. So, Blogger A writes a blog about your store, with links to the headphones and the sales information. Then, Blogger A Tweets about his new headphones, along with the sale at your store. He rounds it off by a Facebook status update with the same information. Blogger A’s three friends are in the area of your record shop, and they stop by immediately and purchase the last five head phones. The point of this example-with Mobile Social Commerce, sales transactions will often be driven by consumers in the form of blogs, Tweets, updates, etc.
