App Publishing, a division of Mowbi LLC, developed this groundbreaking application for Spurwink.

The autism application is specifically designed for teens and adults on the autism spectrum, including Asperger’s and other developmental delays. This autism app helps support adolescents and adults in social situations by providing scenarios about every day communication with friends, classmates and other people users might encounter.

The app allows users to listen to and review stories about interacting with other people, taking care of oneself, and completing tasks that are important to every day living. The autism app also includes cues and reminders that help users navigate through social situations and everyday tasks. People with autism can use the app to assist them during situations that produce anxiety, frustration, and/or feelings of being left out or disappointed.

Spurwink is a nationally accredited non-profit organization that provides a broad range of mental health, educational and residential services for children, adolescents, adults and families.

The Portland Regional Chamber has gone Mobile with Mowbi

The Portland Regional Chamber has officially gone mobile with Mowbi!

Check out the official announcement in this excerpt from the Chamber’s recent Newsletter:

“The Portland Regional Chamber is pleased to announce the launch of a new mobile application called “Portland, Maine” developed by Portland mobile commerce company Mowbi, LLC.  The site can be viewed on computers by visiting www.portland.mowbi.com, or by going to www.portlandregion.comon most mobile browsers. The downloadable ap will be available on itunes, the Android Market, and ovi soon.

The mobile web site allows users to search under key categories including Where to Eat, Go Shopping, Where to Stay, Things to Do, and Find a Business. Users also have the option of searching for Chamber Members by name or by using the What’s Near Me? button which uses gps to search for businesses in the area of the mobile device.

As part of this alliance, Chamber Members can now take advantage of the Mowbi mobile directory. Through the directory, all Chamber members will receive a free one page mobile website, which will act as an enhanced mobile directory listing for each organization, complete with vital company information such as directions, means of contact, and a corporate logo.”

PORTLAND, Maine – Two new smart phone applications promise to improve trade for thousands of small businesses in the US and across the world by giving users the ability to charge credit cards and creating a mobile store.

App Publishing, LLC, located in Portland, Maine has created the Mobile Store Maker and the Mobile Invoicer, which allow businesses to show and sell their products on a smart phone using a secure credit-card processing program, PayPal or Google Checkout. They can create and send invoices by email or text that their customers can pay on their own smart phone or their computer.

With more than 150,000 small businesses in Maine alone, and e-commerce totaling over $100 billion annually in the United States, the two applications could provide a boost to store owners at all levels. The subscription-based applications will be particularly useful for “mom-and-pop” businesses, such as artists and craftsmen, farmers, musicians, and others who travel to sell their wares.

“Businesses will be able to literally carry their store in their pocket and make a sale anywhere there’s a buyer,” Bill Broadbent, App Publishing’s co-founder, said of the apps.

Mobile Store Maker allows people – whether they’re selling items at a garage sale or expanding the reach of a brick-and-mortar operation – to load product images and information onto a smart phone. Buyers can then purchase the items using a credit/debit card, PayPal, or Google Checkout. Mobile Invoicer allows the owner to create an invoice right on their smart phone, and then hand the device to a customer for immediate payment or send the invoice to their customer by email or text.

“Millions of customers access the Internet from their smart phone,” said fellow co-founder Link Stevens.  “Our Mobile Store Maker will help these companies quickly and easily adapt to this shift in online customer shopping patterns.”

App Publishing Launched

The official launch of App Publishing is today!

The website is available on the web and as a mobile site.

App Publishing is a mobile application development company. We have four main projects that we are working on that are our in-house projects. We also have  a number of clients that we develop for.

The main focus is on mobile commerce but we have one very large project that is pure Web 2.0 (whatever that means). OK, maybe we should say that it is a social network application that we have been working on for months. The anticipated launch date is October 1st.

As mobile application developers, we are looking for fun and innovative applications. If you have an idea, send us an email or give us a call. We can send you an Non-disclosure agreement to begin the conversation, if need be. We will develop it for you or consider partnering with you if the cost is prohibitive.
